  2. Pay the application fee of $40. Instructions for payment are provided in the application.

  3. Check the status of your application in the Clemson admissions portal.

  4. Please allow five to seven business days after submission for processing of your application. You will receive an email at the email address entered on your application when a decision is ready to be viewed in your portal.

Access Your Clemson email

After receiving notice that you have been approved to return to Clemson, all additional communication will be sent to your Clemson email. Please reach out to CCIT if you are unable to access this account.

Degree Program

All students are readmitted into their previous major, regardless of intended major. Students with less than 90 earned credit hours are readmitted into the current catalog year, while students with 90+ earned credit hours are readmitted into their previous catalog year.

Former students returning whose major has been discontinued will return in a non-degree status and must change to a degree-granting program after meeting with an academic advisor.

Clemson graduates requesting reentrance are placed in a non-degree status and can update their status after readmittance.

Advising

After approval and prior to enrolling in courses, all degree-seeking former undergraduates must meet with an advisor in their academic college. Advising appointments are made on a first come, first served basis. Course registration is not permitted until you meet with an advisor.

You will receive instructions to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor at your Clemson University email address (see “Access Your Clemson Email” above). If after five business days you have not received any communication, reach out to a contact in the Academic Advising Directory from your major.

If you are intending to change your major, you must first meet with an academic advisor in your previous major/college to discuss the requirements to declare your intended major.

Upon completion of your advising appointment, you will be reassigned to an academic advisor in your declared major, regardless of your intended major. When you can switch to your intended major, you will be assigned an advisor in that program.

Non-degree-seeking students are assigned to an academic advisor in the Academic Success Center (ASC).

Students Returning From Academic Probation, Suspension or Dismissal

Probation

Students on academic probation return on probation. Students remain on probation until the requirements to be in good standing have been met.

Suspension

If you have been academically suspended from Clemson, you will need to submit a Request for Reentrance when you are eligible to return.

Dismissal

If you have been academically dismissed from Clemson University, you will need to appeal your dismissal and submit a Request for Reentrance. After the Appeals Committee on Academic Eligibility has met, a decision will be sent to you and the Office of the Registrar. The Office of the Registrar will then process all applications for which an appeal was approved. For more questions and deadlines for appeals, please contact Undergraduate Learning.
